Monthly day of mindfulness

Lismore 3rd Saturday of each month
Commencing at 9:00am

This monthly meditation day has been designed for both beginning and experienced meditators. Each day will involve periods of both sitting and walking meditation with instruction and guidance from the teacher, a dharma talk in the middle of the day, and ending with a group discussion.

The whole day is spent in the silent practice of sitting and walking meditation (through lunch and morning tea).

This schedule is subject to change without notice and as such bookings are recommended.

February 16th
Meditation in Action
- 9:00am - 1:00pm Kuan Yin Meditation Centre
A Meditation and Community work day. This half day will combine 2 hours of meditation practice in the morning followed by taking the silence of one's practice into the activities of everyday life.
March 15th & 16th
2 Days of Mindfulness with Patrick Kearney - Kuan Yin Meditation Centre
Patrick has over 25yrs experience in meditation practice and has taught retreats throughout Australia. Patrick emphasises the importance of developing independence in practice through the dynamics of meditation and the theory which guides it.
April 19th
Day of Mindfulness - Self Retreat
Experienced meditators are welcome to participate in a day of sitting and walking meditation practice at their own pace. (There will be no teacher guidance on this day.)

May 9th - 14th
Path of Awakening - Ellen Davison & Radha Nicholson - Gunundi, Ballina
A 5 day Insight Vipassana retreat focusing on developing insight through meditation practice and inquiry.

May 17th
Yatra (mindfulness walk) with Carol Perry - Byron Bay
The walk includes instructions, short breaks, lunch and a dharma talk. Carol brings 30 years in meditation practice and community living to her teachings. She is a member of the Insight Teachers Circle Australia and leads retreats, mindfulness walks (yatras) and dharma workshops in Australia.

The Way of Clarity - Annual Insight Vipassana Retreat - Patrick Kearney
This 8 day retreat will emphasise the Buddha's way of clarity. The retreat is designed to allow you to deepen your experience of Buddhist Insight Vipassana meditation. Insight is the mind's deep seeing into the nature of experience. We will cultivate this insight through sitting and walking meditation, and the ordinary activities of daily life.

Day of Mindfulness - Ellen Davison
Ellen is a teacher in both the Zen and Vipassana traditions. She brings a wealth of experience to her teachings based on over 30 yrs of practice. Ellen is a guiding teacher for the Kuan Yin Meditation Centre in Lismore and Bay Insight in Byron Bay. She leads meditation retreats and Dharma workshops in Australia.
